Patton's Favorite Things
Other than his security blanket and paci, I believe his two favorite things are his wagon and cozy coupe car his got for his birthday. I think he would stay in them all day if we let him. We try to do this every afternoon and try to time it up to be outside when Jason gets him. I'll admit this July heat and being 34 weeks pregnant has kept us in a few times. I can't wait for some nice crisp cool air comes fall!!
Patton's 2nd Beach Trip
Jason had a very busy March and April at work so we were ready to get out of town (rain or shine) come May. We took Patton to the beach when he was almost 3 months old and always said the next time we go we would go with Grandparents (for an extra hand). Well we planned this trip spontaneously and my parents already had plans. Although extra help would have been great, we enjoyed just getting away as a family of 3.
Patton loved his swim classes in March and I couldn't wait to for him to try out the pool at the beach. I envisioned us hanging by the pool for four days and pushing him in his new float. Of course the time we choose to go was when a cold front moves in. I think it was 40 degrees back in Birmingham and it never got passed 70-72 in Destin. We tried the pool one day and it was FREEZING!! Patton wasn't too crazy about the beach b/c it was so windy. Thankfully it was sunny most of the time. Although the trip didn't go as planned we ate very well, shopped and just enjoyed getting away for a few days.

Auburn A DAY and Jason's 35th Birthday
April 20th was Auburn's annual spring game and the last rolling of the Toomer's Oak Trees. Of course being the die hard fans we are we could not miss this momentous occasion. I wanted Patton to be there as well (b/c I'm sure he'll remember it-ha). It was also Jason's birthday. I'm sure he may have wanted or could have wished for a more relaxing day, but he was a trooper all day. My Dad kept telling me they were expecting 100,000 people, but I didn't really believe him. Well, he was right!! I've never seen so many people in Auburn in my life. I really think more people were there than an AU/AL game. Traffic was terrible, parking even worse, had to sit in upper deck- which I hate, but it was all worth it in the end watching Patton play in front of Samford Hall and seeing his face as all the Auburn fans rolled the trees. He was the best baby the entire day. So sad to see the trees gone, but glad we got to see them before they were removed. ***If you haven't read the children's book The Spirit Tree (about Toomers) you must do so.
Easter 2012
We spent Easter going to church with my parents and having lunch with them. Patton was so happy the Easter Bunny knew he was at Nana & Grandpa's house :)
Patton's 1st Birthday!!
Our sweet, precious baby, Patton turned the big 1 on April 2nd. It is crazy how fast a year goes by and how much they change. The day of his birthday we took him to Jim-N-Nick's (his favorite restaurant) for dinner and he loved it as always (especially the cheese biscuits). We celebrated with a few family and friends the following Saturday with a "Sock Monkey" themed party. We missed a few our friends due to sicknesses and two of our best friend's mother giving birth that weekend, but still had a great turn out! Patton is a very loved little boy!! I'm so thankful for everyone making his birthday so special :)
